Greetings from a very warm and sunny Connecticut! Today is the first day I've experienced where it truly felt like summer this year.
Just a note today to state that last week I took a very quick trip back to Minneapolis. My sister, Kathy, had gastric bypass surgery last week and pulled through with flying colors! My parents also had their 50th wedding anniversary, and I think I had a birthday in there somewhere, too. It was very much a whirlwind weekend, and I wanted to let those folks out there whom I didn't get to see know I will definitely fit them in on my next trip. Hopefully, my next trip will be less stressful and more of a vacation than this one was.
To those of you whom I did get to see, I want to thank you once again for taking me in and shuttling me around to all my obligations. I owe you!
Of course, it was massively too short of a visit, and now I'm homesick. I think I need to visit in January next time. That should cure my romanticized vision of the Twin Cities instantly. All I'd have to do is go out in -20 degrees, start (or try to star) a car, and scrape ice off the windshield. I bet Connecticut would look pretty good about then.
So, to all you Twin City folks, expect to see me back again sometime soon. Three and a half years is definitely too long for me to stay away. Too much of my heart and soul is still there.
Until then, keep checking the 2008 photo album! I've already added some photos from the trip, and will be slowly adding a few more over the next week or two as time allows.
